About C4LPT

Welcome to the Centre for Learning and Performance Technologies (C4LPT).

I am Jane Hart and I founded the Centre in 2005 to provide independent advice and consultancy on the use of technologies for learning and performance. This website has now become one of the world’s most visited learning sites on the Web, with over 125,000 monthly visits.

The website hosts a number of major resources, including a Directory of Learning & Performance Tools that contains over 2,000 tools. You will also find links to articles and resources produced by me, my Jane’s Pick of the Day and online versions of  two of my books: Social Learning Handbook and the (upcoming) New Workplace Learning.

Top 100 Tools for Learning

For the last 6 years, I have conducted an annual survey of learning tools and compiled a yearly Top 100 Tools for Learning list. I released the 2012 list on 1 October 2012. As this is a very popular resource, I am currently building the Practical Guide to the Top 100 Tools- a growing collection of Quick Guides to help you find out more about how to make the most of the world’s most popular tools for learning.

Social Learning Centre

In 2012 I set up the Social Learning Centre – a global online professional community for Learning Professionals (in both education and the workplace) to learn from their peers as well as leading industry practitioners and thought leaders from around the world in a number of different online, social ways, which includes online workshops, webinars, live chats. etc. We now have over 2,000 members.

The Connected Worker

In 2013 I launched a new initiative with Harold Jarche: The Connected Worker. The digitally connected workplace demands a completely new set of skills. Becoming a successful social organisation will require more than just the implementation of enterprise social technologies. Developing, supporting, and encouraging people to use these new social workplace skills will be just as important. We work with enterprises to help to build the new capabilities of the Connected Worker though our workshops and consultancy services.

Learning in the Social Workplace

Learning in the Social Workplace is my blog, where I write regular posts about how to support learning & performance in the social workplace.

Speaking and writing

I am  an international speaker and writer on the use of social technologies for collaborative learning and collaborative working

Consulting and advice

I work with organisations all around the world helping them understand how they can use social technologies to underpin new approaches to working and learning. I am also a member of the International Think Tank on Workplace Learning, the Internet Time Alliance.

Audacity 2.0.2, Blender 2.63a, ClamWin 0.97.5, Dia 0.97.2-2, DjVuLibre 3.5.25+4.9, Firefox 15.0, Freeciv 2.3.2, GanttProject 2.5.5, GIMP 2.8.2, GnuCash 2.4.11, HTTrack 3.46.1, Maxima 5.28.0-2, Miro 5.0.2, LibreOffice 3.6.1, Pidgin 2.10.6, PokerTH 0.9.5, RSSOwl 2.1.4, Scribus 1.4.1, SeaMonkey 2.12, Sokoban YASC 1.577, Songbird 2.0.0, Stellarium 0.11.4, SumatraPDF 2.1.1, Thunderbird 15.0, TightVNC 2.5.2, TuxMath 2.0.3, VLC 2.0.3, Battle for Wesnoth 1.10.4

We’ve also changed our donation policy for those wanting a physical copy, rather than downloading the ever growing (1.7GB) size of the project image. Now any donation of $10 or above will ensure you receive the latest version of OpenDisc, via airmail to any location in the world. This replaces the old $20 donation for two copies, as most people we spoke to either didn’t want/use the second disc and in most cases passed along their copy to friends after using it.

More changes are coming soon, so be sure to follow our tweets for updates as they happen.

After an unfortunate server crash, along with our hosting company only providing a 2008 backup, we’re almost completely back to normal. As you can see the new site design has to be redone, and we’re yet to tackle the forums and wiki.

Downloads of the latest version as always are available on the right-hand pane, as direct downloads and torrents.

Thanks to everybody who supported OpenDisc and volunteered their time this year, and wish you all the best for 2010!
