Tux Paint

Tux Paint Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6). Tux Paint is used in schools around the world as a computer literacy drawing activity. It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program. Kids are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative.

February 16, 2013 — The Southern California Linux Expo (SCALE 11x) takes place this month in Los Angeles, CA. On the 23rd, youth presenter Sofia Kelly will be presenting "How To Be A Picasso Using Tux Paint"!

February 15, 2013 — We've discovered that Tux Paint has been ported to the Apple iPad, as Tux Paint HD (available for free in the App Store). The source-code has been posted to github, as well.

Tux Paint runs on a variety of platforms, including all versions of Windows (including Tablet PC), Mac OS X 10.3 and up, Linux, BeOS and Haiku, FreeBSD and NetBSD. It works well on older, slower systems, as well as thin-clients such as LTSP, Citrix® and Windows Terminal Services. It even runs on some handheld computers!
